What Is Nutrition

Hi, I am here again

Now I have to talk about Nutrition. Why?
Well I studied in Nutrition Academy, and my parents paid my college so I have to spread what I have already learned, it will remove some of my guilty because I DON’T have a job as Nutritionist, clear kan?

Wikipedia say that :
Nutrition is the selection of foods and preparation of foods, and their ingestion to be assimilated by the body. By practicing a healthy diet, many of the known health issues can be avoided.[1] The diet of an organism is what it eats, which is largely determined by the perceived palatability of foods.

But maybe I will have my own definition, because I think Wikipedia did not study in Nutrition Academy, so you better trust me. 

Nutrition is the knowledge of relationship between food and health. It’s not only when you are doing diet in order  to be skinny, or what foods you have to eat when you get sick, But it is a diverse thing that relates food with health.

People nowadays always relate nutrition with disease, I mean : you need nutrition when got sick. But actually even when you are not sick and you eating in McDonalds, what are you eating has Nutrition in it. Even just carbohidrates and fats ( I meant bad fats :D )
When I was studying In nutrition academy, I found out that there are a lot sciences that are following Nutrition, including food science (of course), chemistry, medical science, culinary, food technology, food safety, microbiology, etc etc.
In the last semester I chose to learn more about Food Technology. It brought a lot fun actually. In Food technology we can create a delicious snack that gives value to our body.
Now let me talk in Bahasa :
Gizi yang baik itu seperti apa sih? sayangnya kita sudah terbiasa dibesarkan dengan NASI sebagai bahan makanan utama, Dan sayangnya juga nasi hanya memiliki 1 kandungan gizi utama yaitu Karbohidrat yang pada akhirnya kurang bermanfaat bagi tubuh. Sebenarnya dari TK sudah ada penjelasan mengenai 4 Sehat 5 Sempurna, yang artinya ketika kita makan nasi maka kita harus melengkapinya dengan lauk pauk sebagai sumber protein hewani and nabati, sayuran sebagai sumber vitamin dan mineral, buah-buahan sebagai sumber serat dan yang terakhir susu sebagai pelengkap protein. Tapi tetap saja kan yang paling utama Nasi, buktinya nasi memberikan porsi 80% dari keseluruhan porsi makan kita (ngaku deh ya :) )
Itulah sebabnya ketika seseorang sudah mengalami Obesity atau kegemukan, dan memutuskan melakukan diet, mereka akan sangat kesulitan karena harus merubah kebiasaan yang sudah dilakukan sejak kecil, yang dalam jangka pendek akan mempengaruhi pencernaan. Sementara orang diluar negeri lebih mudah menjalankan diet untuk menurunkan berat badan karena porsi makanan mereka yang sudah beraneka ragam.


Akhir akhir ini bermunculan metode diet yang kalau aku bilang sih “TOO MUCH” , why? because we are not an athlete dan kita menjalani kehidupan normal dan tidak berolahraga secara terus menerus. Kita tetap membutuhkan lemak dan karbohidrat sebagai sumber energi dan Nutrisi hormonal kita misalnya. Oke lah ya kalau akhirnya kita memutuskan diet very high protein and very low fat, tapi percayalah pada ahli Gizi, makanan dengan gizi seimbang is much much better and friendly to our body.
Anyways, it is already 1 am, I should sleep now, but I think I will continue to write about this.
